Greetings to the AMAZING KCF church family!
We are only a few days away from two major “harvest” activities - Operation Candy Outreach and our youth outreach at Shore and Memorial Junior Highs featuring internationally acclaimed youth evangelist, Reggie Dabbs! Pray that the 30+ KCF families participating in the candy outreach will have Divine appointments with their neighbors. Also, pray that every one of the 600 seats at Memorial Junior High will be filled at 7 pm on November 8th, and that many would surrender to Jesus!
In addition to these two outreaches, I want to thank you for your efforts to personally invite guests to our church family activities! In addition to out of town guests, we have had one hundred and three first time guests from the local area in 2007 so far! Keep inviting - lives are being changed by the Lord!
As we move deeper into the harvest and we see more guests visiting KCF, I want to encourage all of us to make an extra effort to warmly welcome and encourage our guests. Let me make four suggestions on how we can do this...
1. Visitor Parking - We have designated the first row of parking spaces as you enter the parking lot as visitor parking, and they are marked with “visitor parking” signs. Please refrain from parking in these spots. Also, if you are physically capable of parking farther from the doors, I would like to encourage you to leave the parking spaces near the front door vacant for others!
2. Greeting Time - The primary purpose of the greeting time during our Sunday Celebrations is to greet our guests and help them feel welcome. When guests visit a new church they need to experience a friendly welcome and not just witness regular attenders warmly greeting each other! So here is our goal for greeting time - our guests should be welcomed by so many KCFers that they are the last (and not the first) to sit down!
3. Seeing our guests to the door - For many visitors to a church, the number one reason they come a 2nd time is the friendliness of the church, and friendliness is often determined by how many people talk to them after the service! So please spend the first three minutes after the service is over engaging our guests in conversation. This an incredibly important way to show them the love of Jesus. Thank our guests for coming, ask them a question or two (are you new to the area? How old are your children, etc.), and invite them to come again! Don’t assume someone else will do it!
4. Greeting Team - We have a fabulous Greeting Team, and this team is a critical and essential way we help guests feel welcome at KCF! We are currently looking for additional members for this team! Please prayerfully consider joining this team, and help your church family warmly welcome our guests! If you would like to join or need more information about the Greeting Team, please contact Doug Proctor or Pastor Chris. With the Love of Jesus, |
