Where No One Stands Alone

Willoughby, OH

Historic downtown Willoughby, OH boasts several of the Cleveland areas most popular restaurants and includes, galleries, antique shops and gift shops.

The quaint communities of Willoughby and Willoughby Hills are situated in an ideal location both for those working in downtown Cleveland and for those traveling eastward to Pennsylvania or New York State. Sitting along the Chagrin River and with it's proximity to Lake Erie, the Willoughby area has a long history of development and commerce. In fact it has been part of six different counties - more than any community in the US - including Washington, Jefferson, Trumbull, Geauga, Cuyahoga and finally, Lake County.

In 1834, residents named their community Willoughby in hopes of attracting Dr. Westel Willoughby, an educator from Herkimer County, NY. Dr. Willoughby did indeed move to his namesake community and soon opened his Willoughby medical College. The college eventually became part of the Case Western Reserve University.

Today, it is a thriving suburban area of more than 23,000 residents and boast one of the most charming downtown areas in Ohio. Willoughby is also home to the Andrews Osborne Academy and Immaculate Conception private schools and several members of Kirtland Christian Fellowship call it home.
