Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:4
Dear Friends,
Thank you for your interest in the Children's Ministry at Kirtland Christian Fellowship. We are very excited about what God is doing in the lives of our children!
The primary goal of the Children's Ministry is to complement and support parents in the spiritual education of their children. We believe that children are the Church of today as well as the Church of tomorrow. Our desire is that each child graduate from this ministry with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as a solid foundation for living based on the Bible.
Life is all about relationships. First, our relationship to God and second our relationships with one another. I believe healthy a healthy children's ministry is built on healthy relationships between adult staff and children. Real spiritual growth takes place in a child's life when caring adults instruct according to the Bible.
The quality of the staff is very important. We have men and women involved in the children's ministry who have a deep commitment to Christ and a desire to teach children to know Christ.
If you have any questions about the Children's Ministry, please contact me at 440-256-1001 or jancolwill@sbcglobal.net.
God Bless You,
Jan Colwill Director of Children's Ministry
About our preschool group:
We see our time with the preschoolers as spiritual ministry, not babysitting. From the youngest baby to our kindergartners, teachers spend time praying for and ministering God's Word to our children. For the security of the children, when a child is dropped off at the classroom, the person dropping the child off will be asked to sign the child in on registration sheet. The same person dropping off the child will need to pick up the child at the end of class. Children in the preschool group can only be picked up by persons 7th grade or above.
About kid's church:
Our 9:00 am classes are divided up into age appropriate classes. This format provides a more in-dept look at scripture and an opportunity for sharing in a more intimate setting.
Our 10:00 am program, the K-2nd grades meet together and the 3rd-6th grades meet together. This format provides the opportunity for building community among the children and further developing Christian life skills through games, discussion and activities.
About our youth:
The youth of our church are actively involved in the 10:00 am program of the Children's Ministry. They provide valuable assistance to our teachers while learning valuable ministry skills at the same time. Youth involved in the program are scheduled to serve once every two months.
About our teachers:
God has blessed us with a devoted staff of committed teachers who love the Lord and love our children. many have been teaching for several years. Their desire is to support you as you raise your children to walk with Jesus! In an effort to serve more effectively, our teachers are required to attend leadership teacher training throughout the year.
