Joel and Heidi met while attending ORU in Tulsa, OK and were married after Heidi graduated in 1998. Heidi has felt a strong call to missions since she was 13, and Joel knew he was called to Africa during a short-term trip with ORU in 1996. But before they could get to Africa, they had over $60,000 in school debt to pay off. While in Tulsa, OK, both worked to whittle this down. Joel worked at a software corporation for 5 years and Heidi worked at "Impressions on Hold" until Jakob was born in 2001. Through God's intervention, all the debt was paid off in 4 years!

Soon after, Joel and Heidi searched for a like-minded missions agency and after a lot of prayer and deliberation, joined Calvary International in 2002.

After completing the Timothy Internship in Burkina Faso in 2003, the Hayslips spent a frustrating 1st year trying to figure their purpose in Africa. But in 2004 God spoke loud and clear that He was calling them to Children's Ministry.

They have not looked back.

The last couple of years have brought changes and challenges for us. The US and international bank fees we pay and the administrative fees for our mission have increased. These two areas alone take up another 5% of our income. Our children are growing (two in college), the prices for food, gas etc has increased, Kids Club continues to grow, as well as other areas of ministry. Because of this the deficit at the end of each month has grown as well. Thus we are praying for $850 per month increase in support to cover them. New land wall

With the final piece of land we purchased last year (the area between the far pillar and the tree in the middle of the picture), we can now start to close in the part of the property we use for Kids Club. We have gotten the pillars up for the main gate (obviously :)) and now we are praying for the provision to put up the actual gate. This gate and the closing in of the sections between pillars and wall will cost approx. $1050. With the current socio-political situation in Bolivia, as well as safety for Kids Club and our family home in mind, we have started by faith in this direction. You are welcome to join us with prayer and giving if the Lord Jesus leads that way.

The wall-less section you see on the right is the front of the surprise piece of land the Lord brought to us last year. It is L-shaped and the wall you can see is our property... the house in the middle is the Carol Lee house (multi-purpose building for church groups). The dream is to clean this land up, put in a garden and build a small house of prayer. This would be available for the use of the Christian groups or individuals that come for retreats, prayer and fasting. This will also give us more room for Kids Club activities when needed. Once again we need to get the front wall and gate up as well as finish a wall in the back. The cost of this first step will be approx. $2500. Joe and Brenda Ziska, Klosterneuburg, Austria

We thought you would enjoy seeing some pictures of Martin's baptism last weekend. Remember, he is the son of the Jochlingers, one of the first couples that came to the Lord when we first began our ministry in Austria. Pray that Martin will continue to grow in his new-found faith.

Were beginning the preparation for the next Womens Breakfast in Klosterneuburg that will be held on April 10th. We would appreciate your prayers for the meetings of the committee on March 8th and the 31st. I met for the second time with the two women youve been praying for from the "Cappuccino for the Soul" meeting. One is more involved with esoteric ideas. Vera, my co-worker, (right in the picture on the left) and I met together with the second women at Starbucks. She told us how she began her search for God. We were able to talk to her about our experience with Christ. She invited us to her home for our next get-together on March 10th.. Pray that we might continue our discussions about God.

Our new evangelistic circle in Klosterneuburg had eight seekers at the first two meetings in February. Were really excited that all of them came to both studies. Thank you so much for praying. Praise God that they are interested in talking about God. Please pray that the text from Mark 4 will speak to their hearts on March 16.

On March 1st Joe began team-teaching the 12-week course once a week called: "Building Blocks of a Dynamic Church" with Fritz Lippert, a retired Christian judge. Pray that the students will learn both the essentials of church life and how to make them effective.
