Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord
I have something I would like to share with You. I think in everyone's life some kind of healing is needed. It may be spiritual, emotional, or physical. So I'm sharing some of the healings God has done for me, because I know what he has done for me, God will do the same for all of you. Praise the Lord!
When I came to know the Lord, in my head, I was six years old. At that time I didn't know how to get Him into my heart. I heard a lot of people talk about having Him in their heart and having a close relationship with him. So after I lived my life the way I wanted to and made a big mess of it, I finally found out how to seek and find, and I asked Jesus to come into my heart so I could Love Him.
I prayed for nine months and all the while he was working on my behalf. He cut my appetite down and set me free from compulsive overeating and I didn't realize it for a while, thank God!
The Pastor came to see me in the hospital and prayed for me, and then he asked my the big question. What would I say to God after I died, and God said, why should I let you enter into my Heaven?
After that visit, my life really changed. Christmas of 1983 was the most beautiful of all. I remember walking into the Christian Bookstore looking for some gifts. I walked around the store with my husband and I looked up on the wall and I saw a picture of Jesus and it said: "How much do you love me? I asked Jesus and Jesus said this much, then He spread His arms and died for me."
I never forgot that moment, my eyes teared up and I began to cry. My husband put his arms around me and said, "You are really in love with Jesus". That is when I really knew what love was.
I was always for myself. I was a nice person, but I was selfish and always looking out for me in many ways, but only Jesus could change that and he did. He made a 180 degree turn in my whole life. I like myself today because I'm a child of God and He is the King of Kings and I'm joint heir to Jesus Christ and I'm a new creature in Him. His word tells us so, and we know His Word is Truth!
In the winter of 1983 I was delivered from the spirit of fortune telling and other personal matters. It came to me in a dream. I woke up in the middle of the night crying and saying, "In the name of Jesus, leave me." I didn't know what else to say and I wasn't grounded in the word of God yet to know how to put on the Armor of God. But there is power in the name of Jesus! I was delivered from demonic spirits and was Baptized in the gifts of the Holy Spirit in January of 1984.
I always had had back problems. The doctors wanted to operate. I thank God today that I didn't let them. After prayer I could feel every vertebrae and disc move into place. He also answered many prayers for the heart operation that I needed. God changed evil into good. Romans 8:28 says, "For we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
So let us give Him praise and glory for his goodness and steadfast love. I know I try to remember to do that everyday when I get up, because He is number one in my life.
