ACCIDENT
On November 14, 1988 my friend Erica picked me up from Knoxville, Tennessee after her trip to Atlanta, Georgia. We were having a pleasant trip back to school, she telling me about her trip to Atlanta and me telling her about my stay in Knoxville.
After we had gotten into Kentucky, she asked me to drive because she was becoming tired. About four hours later while I was driving, I heard Erica call my name. I was about to hit the meridian and she tried to stop it from happening. I lost control of the car, and it flipped end-over-end down the center of Interstate 71. When the car stopped flipping it rested on its' hood in the emergency lane.
Erica unfortunately did not make it through the accident, and that was why I was so reluctant to offer this story to our miracle book. However, when I remember the accident, I think, "I could have been taken that night also." That is what makes my story a miracle. The car was destroyed, and even though I did not have my seatbelt on, the only thing that happened to me ws a broken finger and a few scratches and bruises.
The Lord was in the car with me that night. When the car stopped flipping I was kneeling in the middle of the windshield, and the drivers side of the car was so crushed that the rescue crew had to use special equipment to get me out of the car. Also, even though the car weaved from lane to lane and then flipped end-over-end for several hundred yards, no other cars were involved in the accident.
The Lord was there that night and he spared my life. He carried my body through the wreckage so that I was not seriously hurt. I thank and praise Him for that every day.
