DIRECT ANSWERS TO PRAYER

In 1985, my two sons, ages 3 and 5, were in Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital for corrective surgery. It wasn't a serious condition, but it was serious for my two little boys, and also the family. My mom and I took turns staying with them at night. The sixth night, the nurse suggested we both stay home and get some rest. She said they would be fine. Well, we weren't too happy to leave them, but we finally did. I called several times after we came home. The nurse said they were resting and getting along fine. So we finally went to bed.

Early the next morning I called the hospital, and the nurse on duty said, "I was just going to call you. Todd had a temperature of 104." Well, I was frantic. I was running around getting ready to go to the hospital. My mom said, "You get ready and I'll be right there." She ran to the phone and called the prayer chain.

We hurried to the hospital and into the boys' room. There was a red sign on the door, it said "Quarantined" Do Not Enter! We ran to the desk and asked the nurse what was the problem. She said, "Nothing with the boys. We moved them across the hall. The little baby in that room has a contagious disease." I said, "I don't believe you. The nurse told me about an hour ago that Todd was very sick." She said, "I just came on duty 15 minutes ago and he's fine." We went to his room and he was eating breakfast. I said, I was very upset at the nurse for telling me he was very sick. She said, "Let's check the charts." We went to the desk and sure enough the charts showed he did have a temperature of 104. She said, "I don't know what happened, he is find now."

Well, I looked at my mom and I said "I do." We called the prayer chain at our church before we came over here. I praise God for looking after our little ones when we aren't with them!

"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven." James 5:15
