CHANGED HEART

My miracle came to me Easter Sunday, 1986.

On December 15, 1985 I became very ill. My husband called the ambulance. When they came they said it was my heart and they took me to the hospital. I stayed three days and I was feeling better so they sent me home. I was still very sick but they thought maybe I had the flu. I did not feel any better, so on December 19th I was home alone and I was very scared.

I called the ambulance and while I was waiting, I started talking to God. I asked Him if I was going to die? I heard a voice say read Psalms 118 verse 17. I opened my Bible and read "I shall not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord."

Well, you can imagine how relieved I was, and became calm. When the ambulance attendant came he commented and said "Who's sick?" I told him I was, and he looked at me with a strange look. He hooked me up to the monitor and said we'd better take you to the hospital.

I knew I was very sick, but I knew I would be okay. I was in Intensive Coronary Care for three days. My doctor said he wanted me to have a stress test. I went to Lake West Hospital, but I could not complete the test. My doctor then recommended I have a heart catherization. He said he believed the aorta valve was bad. I made the appointment to see the specialist on March 31.

I had such a strong urge to go to church on Easter Sunday, March 30. I knew I was very sick, but my daughter brought me anyway. I was too weak to stand for the singing. A voice kept telling me to go to the hospital. I said "No, I'm staying here." When prayer time came, Pastor Gowman asked some deacons to lay hands on me while he prayed, I could feel their hands but then I felt the biggest hand on my back, and it felt as though that hand just picked up my heart and held it. I had such a calm feeling. I knew I was healed.

I even drove myself home. My daughter followed me because she knew how sick I was when she brought me. I saw the specialist the next morning and I told her I was healed. She examined me and said, "Well, your heart sounds okay, but we'll do another stress test and see." I went to University Hospital and passed the stress test like a breeze. The doctor told me there was no longer need for a heart catherization because he saw nothing wrong with my heart.

I thank my Lord every day for my healing.
